Patty Froese who also writes under the pen name Patricia Johns for her Harlequin Love Inspired writing has published twelve books. She started out as a starving artist after her BA in English Literature working a part time job and living on the cheap while she hammered out her first novel in a tiny bedroom in downtown Toronto. Those were the good old days and she's never looked back. She's now a wife a mom and a writer--and she no longer starves thanks to her loving husband.
It's nice to have you here again for a visit, Patty. Would love to hear about your two newest books. Fill us in.
IN THE MORNING
Amy Butler lost her faith when she lost her
child and the grief she thought she'd put into the past is now threatening to
overwhelm her all over again. Now a prominent attorney, she battles a case to
keep a sixteen year old boy out of prison, but the boy's personal faith keeps
him from using the strongest defense available to them. When the boy's pastor
steps in as a moral support, Amy is faced with her own deepest desire--to
believe again.
Steve Shaw is new in town, and doing his best to support a young man through his criminal trial. It doesn't help when he realizes that he's falling for the adamantly non-Christian defense attorney. But he sees something under her steely shell that he recognizes--a soul mate.
Is Steve the man for Amy, or was he only meant to bring her back to her faith?

Why I wrote the book:
Some
books I write because I get excited about an idea, and others are more
personal. This book is the personal kind. While I haven't lost a child, I have
struggled to rebuild a crumbled faith. It's not easy to face the truth inside
of yourself, especially when the truth is that you no longer believe. And once
your faith is gone, you can't simply turn around and go back the way you came.
The only way back is forward.
This is the story of a woman's climb back
to faith. I hope you'll recognize something in this book, something that
reminds you of your faith and struggle.
The most important thing I've learned in
life is that God is very real. He also answers those hard questions---not
always immediately, but He does
answer.

HIS UNEXPECTED FAMILY
Suddenly a Mother
When a baby is dropped into her life without warning, Emily Shaw is overjoyed. It's a bit odd that her distant cousin named single Emily as guardian, but she's thrilled all the same. She never thought she'd get to be a mom. Another unexpected blessing is that baby Cora arrives in the arms of police chief Greg Taylor. Despite all three of them instantly bonding, Greg has promised himself he'll never be a father. And now Emily's smooth-talking relative is challenging her right to raise Cora. Will Emily have to make an impossible decision between the child she already loves and the man who loves her?
Why I wrote this book:
I wrote this book when
I was longing for another baby. I have one child, but for medical reasons,
can't have another. I really did think I was alright with this, but there are
still times when I wish we could expand our family. I know I'm not alone in
that. Every woman has to either make a decision, or make her peace with
motherhood, and I don't think that process is simple for any of us.
So while I went to
pudding over baby shoes and those teenie tiny diapers, I decided to get it out
of my system through novel-writing. That's when Baby Cora arrived on Emily
Shaw's doorstep---a newborn with swirls of downy red curls on the top of her
head, and a pink little tongue that pokes out when she sleeps.
