Not when he allowed himself to be swayed a little by Peter when he was getting bit off in a couple of things and affecting others by the things he said, but because Barnabas was such an encourager. I, too, appreciate the idea of being someone who can bring encouragement to someone else. So many need that sort of thing these days especially.
